I refused to take it because the side effects seem to be worse than the depression. I think it depends on the person and how depressed you are.

I had a paradoxical reaction to this medication. Instead of it raising my dopamine levels, they were depleted to the point, that further meds must still be taken to counteract the muscle jerking it precipitated.

ABILIFY is prescribed to adults with depression, in addition to an antidepressant medication such as Lexapro®, Zoloft®, Prozac®, Effexor XR®, and Paxil CR®, or their generic equivalents where available.


Raises dopamine levels (not necessarily a negative).
